illustrations are scanned in at 300 ppi
at the original size so that you receive high resolution
images that will print beautifully. Even if you
purchase the CDs for personal use, you can create
your own print reproductions to decorate your home.
That's because we do not offer low-resolution images for
web use or Paint Shop Pro "tubes." While the internet
has an abundance of people offering such images for low
cost or free, they will not give you quality
printing results.
Even
if you see high resolution images for sale at a lower cost,
keep in mind that not all scans and editing are
equal. In the example shown above, some sellers
will use a cheap scanner and then try to "improve"
upon the Harrison Fisher art by modifying the colors or
adding garish effects and animations. Hillstock's images
respect the integrity of the original art. The "other
image" is a simulated example of some images we've
seen for sale online.
